The one day event was organized and supported by Hue Teaching University and the Institute of Ecological and Biological Resources (IEBR) and held in Hue, central Vietnam. The workshop was attended by representatives of most universities in Vietnam as well as national research institutions and a number of conservation NGO’s including Wildlife at Risk (WAR) and the Asian Turtle Program (ATP) of the Cleveland Metroparks zoo.
During the workshop the ATP presented findings on the radio telemetry study on the Keeled Box Turtle (Cuora mouhotii) in Cuc Phuong National Park, as well as delivered a presentation on the role of research in conservation with a focus on Rafetus swinhoei in Vietnam.
We hope that in the future, the workshop will have served to provide a useful basis for increased discussion on conservation and to explore the opportunities for conservation focused research throughout the country.
